Sunday 17th Feb

ohhh wow!

What a day!

I did my 1st ever East/West Wedding fair today . . . . An Asian wedding fair, and it was amazing! The colours were fantastic, and the Wedding Saris were out of this world! SOOOO beautiful....... I cant wait to do the next one!

LOL I am still in shock at the scale of Asian weddings tho, I did my first one last year.... a 'sit-down' meal for 49 tables... and 12+ people on the tables..... lol this is NOT a small 'do'

I had an enquiry today, for 400 Chair covers, 400 Napkins & ties an table cloths for "not many" tables, probably only 20 to 30 !!! wowieeeee I cant wait LOL

There was a young girl at the fair doing 'Mehndi' designs, and they were fantastic, Emma (My cousin, n todays helper) was fascinated watching this girl doing the designs.

'Mehndi' is Henna design drawn onto the skin, and it is a BIG part of Asian wedding tradition. Basicaly its drawn on with a paste, which then dries & falls off after about 45 minutes leaving the design on the skin...... then you need to keep the area as warm as possible so the design darkens, but you cant get it wet for at least 24-hours or it comes off.

This young girl was probably in her late teens or early 20's and she does the most amazing designs FREEHAND without a design to copy from and so fast!

Emma kept watching them being done, and she finaly decided to have hers done..... and it was gorgeous, a beautiful flower design going from the nail of her 'ring' finger on her right hand, up her wrist to her forearm, realy pretty, and it took her all of maybe 10 minutes to draw it!

Emma was trying to persuade me to get mine done too, but its not 'me', I dont do what you would call in-your-face stuff, so I said no ................... hmmmmm LOL I was overheard lol, n the girl that was doing the designs said she would do a small design just on my wrist................... I am currently typing 1 handed, cos I have a pretty little scroll type design on my wrist & I have my hand tucked away behind my back to keep it warm, (it changes from a gingery-brown to a dark brown as it gets warmer.)

I will try & take some pictures tomrrow, its a bit smudged tho cos I coulnt keep my wrist still tho for the 45 minutes it takes to dry to start with!
